No Energy Transition, Just More Energy Consumption

What is interesting to note from the illustration above is the following; as new forms of energy are introduced into the economy the [previous sources are not displaced. The new forms of energy are just additive to the previous forms and volumes of energy.

This begs the question of how exactly the world is going to transition to a zero-carbon green economy.

A recent Bloomberg Green article says that the world will require $114 trillion dollars of investment. That number is almost beyond comprehension. It would be something like 5 times the annual GDP of the US.

I maintain my view that the political class in the west will continue this green transition and will likely spend hundreds of billions of dollars attempting it.

This will be great for us as heads we win (green transition)/ Tails we win more (hydrocarbons are required for the transition).
